London – Sasha Grey declares, “Too much sex can be a bad thing” – for dogs and cats, that is – in a provocative new PETA US ad in which she’s shown posing nude in a bed. The adult film icon is the latest celebrity to appear in the ad series, which is aimed at reducing dog and cat overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering. The ad was shot by renowned celebrity photographer Andrew Southam.
“I think spaying and neutering is incredibly important”, said Grey in an exclusive PETA US interview. “[I]t keeps the animals out of the shelters, and there’s too many unwanted animals out there already.”
One unspayed female cat and her offspring can create a whopping 420,000 cats in just seven years, and one unneutered male dog can father nearly limitless litters. There are currently approximately 2.5 million stray cats across the country, and a recent report revealed that 18 dogs must be euthanised each day in the UK. The solution is simple: spaying and neutering.
High-res copies of the ad are available on request.
